Sarah's
Key Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay

My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wonderful story about a little known piece of French history when French police following orders rounded up and shipped many 1000s of French Jews to the camps. I read this as a book club read and liked it. Chapters alternate between Sarah and a key and modern day France and how they are forever connected. This is a must read for everyone who likes stories about true courage. We must never forget or be doomed to repeat the horrific holocaust of the 1940s. I have been blessed to personally be friends with survivors of the camps. I am always astounded at the claims that the holocaust never happened!! I cannot believe that anyone would be so impossibly stupid as to claim such a lie just to further their own political plans. Sarah was 10 years old when she was dragged from her mother and never saw anyone in her family alive again. This story was repeated over and over in 1000s of children's lives. We dishonor their memories if we forget. I will remember! View all my reviews >>

44
Scotland Street (44 Scotland Street, #1) 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars Excellent book by an excellent writer. I liked this one much better then the No 1 Lady Detective series.. Love the descriptions of the streets and shops of Edinburgh. The charactors are believeable and the child Bertie is adorable in spite of his pushy mother. I also like the drawings by Iain McIntosh that are scattered throughout the book and the notes at the bottom of some of the pages explaining who and what people were/are when their names popped up in the story. That helped make sense of the story-line. I will be looking for the sequel. View all my reviews >>

Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place by Terry Tempest Williams

Wonderful book! This woman had so many similar interests to mine; Native American archeology, birdwatching and bird refuges, and the environment. Her locale is Utah, Salt Lake, and unfortunely the atomic testing grounds of Nevada. There is tragedy in that her mother is dying of breast cancer; a common disease in that area that the government refuses to take responsibility for. Triumph of the human spirit and love over pain and suffering. Very inspiring read. I recommend this book to everyone. View all my reviews >>

Heart) Humor for a Woman's Heart: Stories, Quips, and Quotes to Lift the Heart by Kristin Myers

There's something about humor that refreshes and relaxes the soul. Humor has the unique power to lift a heart to new heights, to heal the hurts of a bad day, and to infuse the soul with inspiration. Samplings from some of your favorite authors and comedians including Patsy Clairmont, Martha Bolton, Mark Lowry, Carolyn Arends, and many more, will delight your feminine funny bone and tickle your female fancy. Take a deep breath, inhale the joy, soak up the merriment, and you'll surely find that your heart is lighter, your day brighter, and your soul hilariously refreshed. copied this as I couldn't say it any better. Mama Makes Up Her Mind: And Other Dangers of Southern Living Mama Makes Up Her Mind: And Other Dangers of Southern Living by Bailey White

My rating: 5 of 5 stars very good reading. I would recommend to anyone who loves stories about families that are just a little bit off the beaten track.... esp. good stories about living in the south which has a whole different flavor to it then stories from up north. View all my reviews >>

The Isaiah Effect: Decoding the Lost Science of Prayer and Prophecy The Isaiah Effect: Decoding the Lost Science of Prayer and Prophecy by Gregg Braden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is an excellent book about prayer and it's effect not only on our personal lives but how the prayers of a few can effect the whole world. So pray for peace, love and harmony as you have no idea how wide-ranging positiveness going out brings about the very results you pray for. I borrowed this book from my local church library, and would like to own a copy as it is a good book to pick up and re=read to remind us to keep on the right track. View all my reviews >>

Crazy
Circus World Crazy Circus World by Jayce O'Neal

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
What a marvelous children's book for us children-at-heart. The imagination is all there is that stands between ('bland, black and white" page 6)and the ending. I certainly will be recommending this book to all my grandparent friends to get for their grand-kiddies. Mr O'Neal has hit the nail on the head for a "how-to" on putting some color and excitement back into our lives, not just for kids; for all of us.

Excerpt from The Next Step In Evolution by Vincent Cole

The Next Step in Evolution: a Personal Guide (New Edition) The Next Step in Evolution: a Personal Guide by Vincent Cole

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
I reviewed this book for the author before it was published. This book is a read and re-read, a pre-cursor in my opinion and a 100 times better then "The Secret". Amazon carries it. Full of wisdom on how to live and let go of the past. I highly recommend owning this book.
__ Life on this planet, this place called Earth. this spinning sphere of joy and sorrow, of love and violence, of light and dark, is but a reflection of a greater reality writes author and seeker Vincent Cole. Thus begins one of the most insightful, integral and wisdom-filled books this reviewer has seen in a long time.

The Next Step in Evolution was completed while the author was on a personal retreat in the desert resulting in his most spiritually satisfying experience, ever. The words channeled come from beings who came from God. The words are a simple message for your soul that can encourage, strengthen and enhance your understanding of reality. Mr. Cole writes, The journey begins by looking inward...to glimpse even a small fraction of God will bring understanding of your own true nature.

The Next Step in Evolution offers more than a glimpse, though. Vincent Cole leads the reader to an understanding of who we are, who we can be, and how. He takes us, for instance, beyond ego to unity with Spirit. He takes us from, I am a man, woman, democrat, republican etc. to I AM...and the reality of true self and true personality.

Mr. Cole takes us through and past the conflict between our ego-based fears and the power of Spirit, thereby enabling us to heed a new master. The result is totally wonderful, ...to grow into the person God created you to be: a child of light and love. This responsibility gives us strength, wisdom, knowledge and so much more.

The Next Step in Evolution is a doorway to enlightenment. And love, compassion, trust, peace and forgiveness. Vincent Cole has brought us the words of the messengers from God. And we will always be with you, reminding you of its existence, reminding you there is more to life. Dont miss this one...it can change your life!
